FAQs:

REIKI

Where is the treatment performed?

ReikiI treatments are performed on a treatment couch or sitting on a chair (short reiki boost).

What happens at a treatment session?

As with Thai massage a detailed questionnaire is completed. You will be asked to lie, fully clothed, on your back and then on your front while the therapist places their hands in a series of postions that covers the whole of the body. Most of the time the therapist will not need to touch you at all, but will hold their hands a couple of inches above you.

Will it hurt?

This should not cause you to feel any pain although areas of injury may feel tingly, like pins and needles. You may experience sensations of hot or cold, although many people feel nothing at all. Most people experience a state of deep relaxation

What do I wear?

It does not matter what you wear for your reiki session, although trousers would be the most practical with a comfortable top.

How long does it take?

A Reiki treatment usually lasts about an hour, although this will vary slightly depending upon individual need. A short half hour reiki boost is also available.

How many should I have?

The number of treatments is up to the individual although as with most complementary therapies the effects are accumulative and last longer if several treatments are taken at regular intervals.

Who is it suitable for?

This is suitable for all and can be given sitting or lying down. Reiki can even be sent over distance as absent healing. There are some medical conditions that may require medical approval before a treatment.

What are the benefits?

There are many benefits of Reiki.

How will it make me feel?

Usually a reiki treatment allows the client to reach a state of deep relaxation. Afterwards you may feel that you need to sleep or that you feel much more energised.
